Friend scams?

I have, previously, noted romance and grief scams, and my experiences as a target.  (Mostly on Twitter and Facebook.)

Recently I was approached again on Facebook.  I doubt that this was a romance scam.  (If it is, it's aimed at the wrong gender, but that's bound to happen with indiscriminate scammers, I suppose.)  It may not be a scam at all.  But it's just been so weird ...

The indications were that this was someone in the security community, but there were some troubling indications.  First of all, there was no message accompanying the friend request.  Now, a lot of people who are trying to build their professional network try to do so "in bulk," and without putting too much effort into the request.  But, when I looked at the account, there was nothing in the postings (of which there were few) about information security.  The postings were mostly pictures of bunnies.

But a lot of the "friends" are colleagues in security, so I thought I'd give this person another chance, and asked if I knew him.  He responded, "What caught my attention is your profile picture which overlaps with my current side work as we raise, care and train rabbits and make them therapy animals.  Plenty of hand work every single day besides my work in the Cyber Sec field."

This is, as I said, on Facebook.  So there are two possible "profile" pictures.  There is the picture that accompanies your posts, which is often a portrait.  But there is also the banner picture which appears on your profile page.  The banner picture for my account shows my family, and there are a number of people in it, so some might infer that I am fecund.  This is the only relation to his response that I could make: the mention of rabbits.  That may seem like a rather tenuous connection, but any relation to my portrait picture is even thinner.  My portrait picture shows my in my sole attempt at blacksmithing.  Yes, handwork is involved, but not rabbits, side hustles, therapy animals, or information security.

So I really don't know what to make of this ...
