Yesterday I was subjected to a seminar covering attachment formation, and four patterns of childhood bonding: secure attachment, anxious insecure attachment, avoidant insecure attachment, and disorganized insecure attachment. We have been given an exercise to determine the childhood attachment formation for our grandparents and parents. All you need to know about how I was raised is that I have absolutely no idea how to answer that for any of my grandparents, or my father, and really don't have any indications about my mother except that she was, from the age of twelve, a manipulative controller (which is actually in the next section of the seminar).
